Police claim to solve Rs 3.80 lakh heist

CHANDIGARH: The UT police claimed to have solved a burglary case and recover stolen items and cash worth Rs 2.40 lakh from the accused.

The UT police claimed to have solved a burglary case and recover stolen items and cash worth Rs 2.40 lakh from the accused.

On Friday, a case under Sections 380 and 457 of the IPC was registered on the complaint of Bhai Ram, a resident of Phase I, Ram Darbar, who stated that on September 27, he went to visit her daughter at her residence in Panchkula and returned on Friday. He found that someone had stolen Rs 3.80 lakh in cash after breaking into his house.

During the course of investigation, Mukesh, a resident of the same area, was nabbed and during interrogation he revealed that he had committed the crime.

The accused had concealed Rs 1.20 lakh in his house and purchased some jewellery with Rs 1.20 lakh while lost the remaining amount in gambling.
