Police Dept marks probe into ‘favouritism’ in postings

CHANDIGARH: Anonymous letters mentioning names of police personnel, who have been deployed in one post for several years, have been sent to UT police officials following which the Police Department has marked an inquiry into the matter.

Anonymous letters mentioning names of police personnel, who have been deployed in one post for several years, have been sent to UT police officials following which the Police Department has marked an inquiry into the matter.

A letter was sent last month following which an inquiry was marked by the Police Department. Recently, another letter was received that had similar complaint.

The letter written in Hindi has mentioned several police personnel have been posted at one place for the past several years. The complaint has mentioned names of several police personnel and the place where they have been posted.

An inquiry has been marked following the anonymous letter.

Another similar complaint mentions about various police personnel who have been posted at the Police Headquarters for the past several years and they have not been transferred. The complaint also mentions that those who were ever transferred to other wings of the Police Department never joined there.
