After Chgandigarh Tribune raised the issue of power outages at the Rajindra Hospital, a team of senior PSPCL officials visited the hospital to take a stock of the issues related to the power supply.
The team, led by Executive Engineer (XEN) Gurpreet Singh, checked the supply line of the hospital. He also held a meeting with Medical Superintendent (MS) BS Brar.
The team found several issues, including the sagging of wires and overloading. Both the PSPCL and hospital blamed each other for the problem.
BS Brar said, “I had written to the PSPCL Chairman following which the team visited the hospital. They will get the problems fixed soon. We will reimburse the amount required for the maintenance to the PSPCL.”
Meanwhile, XEN Gurpreet Singh said the PSPCL was not responsible for power cuts. “The poor maintenance of the the power supply system is responsible for it,” he added.
“We are responsible for providing power to the hospital and are supplying it without any power cuts. Power outages at the hospital are due to technical issues and it is the duty of the hospital authorities to inform us immediately after a power failure,” the XEN said.
