Chandigarh, June 21

Panjab University has sprung a surprise by releasing the annual report for 2015-16 today. However, Vice Chancellor Arun K Grover admitted that the delay has been a very long one and ensured that the next one would be released on time.

The report should have been released last year around August or September as the academic session ends in June.

The VC admitted that he was also responsible for the delay as he did not get time to look into all that was asked to him. However, he said it was important to release the report as it was being released every year ever since it started. He said the report for 2016- 17 would be released by December and asked the departments to ensure that information though the department heads should be sent by August 15. The VC also said even after the delay, the report could be incomplete. The reason behind this according to him was the lack of a feedback mechanism in making the report. He said that he would take stock of the progress of this year’s report from the department heads in the first meeting of chairpersons for this session, which will be held in July.
