Punjab ministers’ swearing-in causes traffic snarl-ups on Vigyan Path

CHANDIGARH: As the newly appointed ministers of the Punjab Government were being sworn in at the Punjab Raj Bhawan at Sector 6, here, the public were being harassed near the spot due to traffic snarls.

Chandigarh, April 21

As the newly appointed ministers of the Punjab Government were being sworn in at the Punjab Raj Bhawan at Sector 6, here, the public were being harassed near the spot due to traffic snarls.

For over two hours, traffic on the the road stretch between the intersection of Sectors 4/5/6/7 (Hira Singh Chowk) and the intersection of Sectors 6/7/26 (Chandigarh Golf Club turn) on Vigyan Path remained out of bounds.

The city traffic police had issued an advisory to avoid the route and had also deputed traffic police personnel for the same. However, traffic snarls, were witnessed around the Sector 7 and Sector 26 areas. The traffic was already heavy in the areas due to the weekend.
