The Delhi-Chandigarh semi-high speed rail project will soon be a reality.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal held a meeting with Railway officials and discussed the Delhi- Chandigarh semi-high speed project in New Delhi today.
Sources said that the meeting could be an indication that the tenders for the Delhi-Chandigarh semi-high-speed rail line might be issued soon.
A French railway organisation had conducting a study on the project and submitted its report to the Railway Ministry last year.
Semi-high-speed trains will cruise at 200 kmph. The time taken to travel between the two cities will be reduced to half.
The schedule of Tejas, another semi-high speed train, was released recently. According to the Railway officials, the train will start operating soon.
