Ravi to play in FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

CHANDIGARH:Local lad Ravi Bhardwaj will represent the nation in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru, from February 23.

Local lad Ravi Bhardwaj will represent the nation in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru, from February 23.

Last year, India was in Group-C for the first round of the 2019 World Cup's Asian Qualifiers, along with Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. They had lost first two qualifying games against Lebanon 72-107 in Lebanon and 57-74 to Syria in Bengaluru. Now India will face Jordan on February 23, Lebanon on February 26 and Syria on June 28. All four teams in group C have played two matches. Jordan has won both while Lebanon and Syria have lost one and won one match each. India has lost both games so far. To qualify for the second round, India has to finish amongst the top three of their group. The second round will be held later this year. The players are already attending the national coaching camp at the tournament venue. The final squad was announced on Saturday.
