Chandigarh, April 15
Residents of the CHB flats and rehabilitation colonies observed a day-long fast in continuation of their protest in favour of their demands at Dhanas here on Sunday.
Nirmal Datt, chairman of the CHB Residents’ Federation, said they had demanded that all kinds of notices should be stopped for a fixed period of time, there should be no annual penalty for violations and 10 per cent concession in covered area given to marla houses should be extended to them. The excess covered area should be compounded in a one-time settlement at a reasonable rate, he added.
Members of various political parties took part in the protest. — TNS
