Rs 1 lakh stolen from shop

CHANDIGARH: A Sector 27 resident, Krishan Dev Ved, has reported that someone stole Rs 1 lakh along with an ATM card from his shop in Mani Majra on the night intervening Monday and Tuesday.

Woman assaulted

Chandigarh: A woman, Asha, was attacked with bricks and stones at her home in Indira Colony, Mani Majra. She sustained multiple injuries in the assault. One of the accused had teased a woman from Asha’s family and the police were informed about it. The attack seemed to be a revenge of the same. TNS

Youth hurt in road mishap

Zirakpur: A youth riding a motorcycle sustained injuries when a car coming from the wrong direction allegedly hit him near Sethi Dhaba on the Zirakpur-Chandigarh stretch. According to the police, the incident took place when the victim, Jitender of Mohali, had come to Zirakpur to meet one of his clients as he deals with bank loan. When he reached near Sethi dhaba, an Alto car coming from the wrong direction reportedly hit the victim’s bike. Jitender sustained injuries and was rushed to the GMCH-32. A case has been registered against the accused car driver. — OC
