SAD worker’s son shoots self to death

Patiala, June 13

The son of an Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) worker allegedly shot himself at his residence situated on the Bhadson road here on Wednesday. 

No suicide note has been recovered from his body. 

Deceased Gurdarshan Singh (59) was the son of Harchand Singh Dilbar.

Dilbar was a confidante of former Punjab  Cabinet minister Surjit Singh Rakhra. 

The deceased worked as a contractor and is survived by a son and his wife. 

The police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the alleged suicide. Police officers said they had initiated an investigation into the case.
