Samarveer crowned under-13 champion

CHANDIGARH:Samarveer defeated Ashwin 21-9 21-10 to win the final of the boys' U-13 category on the concluding day of the Chandigarh Badminton Tournament, organised by the UT Sports Department, at the Sector 7 sports complex.

Samarveer defeated Ashwin 21-9 21-10 to win the final of the boys' U-13 category on the concluding day of the Chandigarh Badminton Tournament, organised by the UT Sports Department, at the Sector 7 sports complex. Piyush Chauhan faced some resistance before registering a 21-18 13-21 23-21 win over Akul to finish third. 

In the final of the girls' U-13 category, Rijul defeated Shagunpreet 21-4 19-21 21-15. Alisha came from one game down to beat Kanishka 16-21 21-14 21-15 and finish third. 

Meanwhile, in the final of the boys' U-15 category, Hasil beat Gurbaksh 21-10 21-14. Yatharth finished third after registering a 21-10 21-18 win over Vishesh. Milli claimed the title in the girls' U-15 category with a 21-13 21-13 victory over Rijul. Shagunpreet defeated Tanish 21-15 21-17 to claim the third position. 

Gurbaksh and Hasil defeated Jayan and Vishesh 21-12 21-16 to win the boys' U-15 doubles title. Himanshu Kayshap and Ishan Jain beat Anhad Pabla and Aniket Rayan 21-10 22-20 to finish third. In the title clash of the girls' U-15 doubles category, Kanishka and Rijul edged past Shgunpreet and Tanya Sharma 21-10 16-21 21-16.  Milli and Samreen claimed the third position after a 22-20 21-15 victory over Tanisha and Tisha. 

Dhruv Bansal won the final of the boys' U-17 category after defeating Sanyam 21-12 21-15 and Yatharth claimed the third spot with a 21-15 21-16 victory over Gurbaksh. Milli won the girls' U-17 title by defeating Naina 21-16 21-13. Jasmine Rawat defeated Vrinda 21-18 21-18 to finish third. Aryan and Sanyam won the boys' U-17 doubles title with a 21-14 21-16 win over Dhruv and Vishesh. Gurbaksh and Hasil beat Anukaran Singh and Harsh Vardhan 21-9 21-11 to claim the third position. Naina and Vrinda defeated Jasmine and Tanya 21-13 24-22 to win the girls' U-17 doubles event.
