The police have arrested a woman, who claims to be a journalist, for duping youths on the pretext of providing jobs to them.
The police said the issue came to light when a city resident filed a complaint in which he told the police that the accused duped him on the pretext of providing a job in the Police Department.
As per the information, the accused have duped unemployed youngsters of Rs 46 lakh.
A police officer, who did not wish to be named, said, “Besides the woman, two other journalists have also been booked in the case. They are yet to be arrested.”
A case under Sections 420 (cheating and dishonesty) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
