SGGS spikers win gold

Chandigarh: Sri Guru Gobind School Collegiate Public School, Sector 26, has won a gold medal in the CBSE Volleyball U-19 Cluster Meet at Kausali. The side defeated Kasauli International Public School 3-1 in the final. A total of 25 teams participated in the event. — TNS

Pankaj, Pratyaksh, Arnav win

Chandigarh: Pankaj Sharma topped the open category on the concluding day of the Open Chess Championship at Manav Mangal School, Sector 21, here on Tuesday. Amarjot Singh finished second, while MP Verma claimed the third position. Pratyaksh Goel, Mumuksh Mittal and Samneet Munde claimed the top three positions respectively in the U-15 category, while  Arnav Khushwa finished on top in the U-10 category. AMK boys win 20 gold medals

Mohali: Students of Ambuja Manovikas Kendra (AMK), Roopnagar, lifted the overall trophy at the 20th Punjab State Special Olympic Games, which concluded at Patiala recently. A contingent of 15 special athletes from AMK won 20 gold medals, four silver medals and an equal number of bronze medals in athletics and table tennis events. — TNS
