Snatchers flee with man’s mobile phone

CHANDIGARH: Two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a mobile phone from a man in Sector 23 here.

Two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a mobile phone from a man in Sector 23 here.

According to the police, the victim, identified as Rishab, a resident of Panjab University South Campus in Sector 25, reported that two unknown persons, who were on a motorcycle, snatched his mobile phone from near a wine shop in Sector 23 on Sunday. He failed to note down the registration number of the motorcycle.

A case has been registered in this regard at the Sector 17 police station and an investigation initiated.

The footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area have been scrutinised by the police.

More snatchings this year

The number of snatching incidents has touched 215 this year as compared to a total of 161 reported in 2016.
