CHANDIGARH: The Students Organisation of India (SOI) has announced an extended panel for the upcoming student elections at Panjab University during a show of strength which included over 500 supporters.

The Students Organisation of India (SOI) has announced an extended panel for the upcoming student elections at Panjab University during a show of strength which included over 500 supporters. 

It will announce the formation of a separate women’s panel next week along with the party manifesto. This was revealed by a party member adding that an alliance with another party would come at a later stage, if ideologies match. The party has firmly stated that they would not let go of the top post.

The party president is Prabhjit Karmuwalia of the human rights department, Mehnazpreet Singh Chahal of the UILS is the chairman.  Harman Lubana of the UILS is the party president and Chetan Chaudhary of the UIET is the campus president. Harjit Brar of evening studies is the party in-charge. Rupinder Sharma of women studies is election in-charge, Preet Kamal Sandhu campus in-charge, Suman Lakhar vice-president and Vishal Singh south campus in-charge.

SOI leader Vicky Middukhehra has appealed to the voters to compare the work done by the SOI in 2015-16 with that to this year. Talking about threat from the SFS, which has decided to contest all seats this year, he said, "We have no threat from any party and we treat them all equally."
