St. Soldier International School, Sector 28, beat Shishu Niketan Senior Secondary School, Sector 22, by a solitary goal to win the 8th St. Soldier Football Trophy on Saturday. After playing a goalless first half, the hosts scored in the 58th minute through Gaurav seal the victory. Rohan Mehta was adjudged the best player of the tournament, while Shishu Niketan custodian Govind was awarded the best goalkeeper award.


Sarbjot helps Baptist win

Sarbjot claimed a fifer as Chandigarh Baptist School, Sector 45, beat St. Xavier’s High School, Panchkula, by eight wickets in the ongoing of St. Xavier’s Cricket League, on Saturday. Led by Sarbjot, Baptist bowlers bundled out St. Xavier’s for 60 runs in 13 overs. Chirayu (16) was the top scorer for the side, while Rakshit contributed 12 runs to the total. In reply Baptist scampered home in seven overs with eight wickets to spare. Puneet scored a vital 27 runs for the winners.
