Sumit wins marathon

Chandigarh, June 25

Sumit Kumar Gorai won the general category race during the Marathon on International Day of Seafarer, organised here today. 

Sandeep finished second and Parkash finished third in the category. Anita, Ramanjot Kaur and Renu took the top three slots, respectively, in the women’s category. In seafarer, Vishnu finished first followed by Tanuj Syal and Ajay Sharma. Shemsher Singh won the first prize in the senior category, while Joginder Singh finished second. The marathon started from Chandimandir and concluded at Sukhna Lake. A total of 800 runners participated in the event. —TNS
