Chandigarh, June 21
The three-day TFT Summer Theatre Festival organised by Theatre for Theatre Group, Haryana Cultural Affairs and Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi, concluded with the staging of Hindi play 'Sandhya Chhaya' at Tagore Theatre here today.
The poignant play translated by Kusum Kumar from Jayant Dalvi's original Marathi play in imaginative structure, articulated the aspirations, anguish and laments of old-age under the apt direction of lead actor director Sudesh Sharma.
The fate of an old couple had conspired to leave them with the emotional turmoil due to the circumstances they had gone through. The deserted couple was portrayed by Sudesh Sharma and Madhubala to perfection.
Chief guest Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor, Haryana, besides Gian Chand Gupta, MLA, Sanjay Tandon, Dr KK Khandelwal, IAS, and Vivek Atrey, IAS, lauded the actors.—OC
