Fatehgarh Sahib, May 20
Thieves struck at a medical store at Kheri Naudh Singh village and decamped with Rs 40,000.
Interestingly, the store is located just a few yards from the police station.
Shop owner Baljinder Kumar said he received a call about the theft from laboratory technician Sanjeev Kumar at 6 am. He said when he reached the shop, he found locks of the shutter of his shop broke open.
He said the thieves had also broken the cables of the CCTV cameras. He said he had kept Rs 40,000 in the cash box before closing his shop last evening, which was missing. He immediately informed the police.
When contacted, DSP Khamano Gurmeet Singh said thefts had become routine and the police was investigating the cases on priority basis and assured the thieves would be nabbed soon.
