Chandigarh, May 22
The Narcotics Control Bureau, Chandigarh Zonal Unit, today arrested three persons and seized 6.040 kg of opium, one country made pistol and Rs 2.56 lakh in cash from them.
The accused were arrested from Ellanabad in Sirsa district of Haryana. The accused have been identified as Kamal Singh of Ellanabad, Krishan Murari and Ram Kumar, both residents of of Kota, Rajasthan.
NCB sleuths said that preliminary inquiry had revealed that the accused persons were involved in drug smuggling for the past six years.
The accused used to supply opium in Haryana and Punjab region and did brisk business.
