Three booked on assault charge

Zirakpur, April 18

The police have booked three persons under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and 120-B of the IPC on the complaint of Satwinder Singh, a resident of Zirakpur.

The complainant alleged that he had gone to Mohali for some work on April 16 and was returning home on his Activa. He alleged that when he reached near Apsara wedding resort near Zirakpur, two unidentified youths riding a motorbike apprehended him and physically assaulted him on the highway. After raising an alarm, both fled from the scene.

The complainant told the police that he had an old enmity with his neighbour, Kuldeep Kumar, a resident of Bhabat village, and he might have hatch a conspiracy with the accused.

Going with the statement of the victim, the police have registered a case against Kuldeep Kumar and his two unidentified accomplices. No arrest has been made so far.
