Three injured in road mishap

MOHALI: Three persons were seriously injured after their motorcycle was hit by a car near Darari village on the Landran-Banur road on Friday morning.

Three persons were seriously injured after their motorcycle was hit by a car near Darari village on the Landran-Banur road on Friday morning.

According to the police, the victims, Parvinder Singh (30), his wife Parveen Kaur (29) and his sister-in-law, Baljinder Kaur (25), were going from Manhera to Morinda, on a motorcycle around 7.30 am, when a car, coming from the wrong side, hit them.

The victims, who stay in a rented accommodation in Morinda, were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Phase VI, from where they were referred to the GMCH-32 in Chandigarh and then to the PGI, Chandigarh, where theyare currently undergoing treatment.

The police said Parvinder, driver of the bike broke his leg, while the women suffered multiple fractures.

Manjit Singh, SHO, Sohana police station, said a police party had gone to record the statement of the victims and a case would be registered after that.
