Chandigarh, October 16 

Sri Guru Gobind Singh (SGGS) College, Sector 26, won the Panjab University Inter-college Diving and Swimming Championships for Men here today. 

GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, finished second in diving competition, while Panjab University Campus claimed the third position. 

GGDSD College, Sector 32, ended in fourth place.

In swimming, SGGS College was followed by BKS College, Mohar, in second place. GGDSD College, Sector 32, claimed the third spot, while GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, bagged the fourth position. 

MCM DAV College, Sector 36, meanwhile, clinched the women’s swimming title. GGD College for Women, Sector 26, followed in second place, while Panjab University Campus finished third. 

Ludhiana girls to the fore 

In the women’s inter-college diving championship, KCW, Ludhiana, pipped DD Jain College, Ludhiana, to claim the title. 

Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 42, finished third, while MCM DAV College bagged the fourth spot. 

Ashish, Sunny win

In the men’s individual diving, Ashish Otwal won the gold medal in the 3m spring board event. Sunny Sharma claimed the silver, while Vinay won the bronze medal. 

Sharma, however, won the 1m spring board event. Otwal finished second, followed by Vinay in third place. 

In high board diving, Vinay clinched the gold medal, while Otwal and Sharma bagged the silver and bronze medals respectively. 

Gold for Priyanka 

Priyanka won the gold medal in the women’s high board diving. Simran finished second, while Prachi had to content with a bronze medal. 

In the women’s 3m spring board event, Priyanka, Simran and Prachi claimed the top three positions respectively. 

Simran, meanwhile, claimed the 1m spring board gold. Prachi bagged the silver medal, followed by Priyanka with a bronze.
