Two arrested for quarrelling with passport staff, damaging property

CHANDIGARH:The Chandigarh Police arrested two persons for quarrelling with staff of the Passport Sewa Kendra, Industrial Area, Phase II, here, and damaging the government property on Thursday.

The Chandigarh Police arrested two persons for quarrelling with staff of the Passport Sewa Kendra, Industrial Area, Phase II, here, and damaging the government property on Thursday.

According to the police, complainant Munish Kapoor, Deputy Passport Officer, complained that accused Kamaldeep Singh Maan and Baldev Singh Maan, both residents of Bathinda, quarrelled with the employees of the Passport Sewa Kendra.

It has been alleged that the accused also damaged the property and stole PSK files from the Passport Office.

The police were informed about the incident. A case under Sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 380 (theft), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of the IPC has been registered against both accused. The police later arrested the accused.
