Two drug peddlers held

MOHALI:The police arrested two persons with 1-kg heroin from Nada Road at Nayagaon.

The police arrested two persons with 1-kg heroin from Nada Road at Nayagaon. 

The accused have been identified as Gurjit Singh from Boparai Baaz village, Amritsar, and Gurcharan Singh, a resident of Mahal village, Amritsar. 

Mohali SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal said both drug peddlers were on foot and hid behind the bushes on seeing the police. The duo possessed 500-gm heroin each. The cost of the contraband is Rs 3-5 crore. They told the police that they had come to Chandigarh to sell the contraband. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered.
