Two persons were injured in two separate cases of assault in Nayagaon.
In the first case, a youth in early 20s, was allegedly stabbed by another person in Janta colony using a knife. The police have booked Ravi, alias Jadu, under Sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 341 (wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 148 (Rioting, armed with deadly weapon) of the IPC.
Police sources said the old enmity was the reason behind the crime.
The victim, Manthan, a labourer, sustained injuries in the stomach and was rushed to the GMSH-16 where his condition is said to be stable.
Satnam Singh, SHO, Nayagaon police station, said the accused, Ravi, was absconding and police have rounded up his brother to know about his whereabouts.
In another case, a 27-year-old youth, Anand, was allegedly attacked by two persons near the cremation ground in Khuda Lahora, Nayagaon, on Monday.
The police said the victim, a construction worker, had gone to a liquor shop on Sunday evening, where he was attacked by 2 youths, Amit and Mohan Singh, alias Chikna.
A police official said an argument ensued between the three, following which Anand was hit by bricks on the head and face and the accused allegedly stole Rs 7,000 from him.
The victim was rushed to the GMSH-16, from where he was referred to the PGI, where he is recuperating.
A case was registered against Amit and Chikna under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 379-B (snatching and use of force) of the IPC at Nayagaon police station.
