The arrest of mastermind in the UT teachers’ recruitment scam by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, will lead to various disclosures in the case as the UT police will be bringing mastermind Sanjay Kumar Shrivastava (37), alias Guruji, alias Master Ji, alias Mithlesh Pandey, on production warrant.
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau had unearthed the UT teachers’ recruitment following which the UT police had registered a case in the matter in July, last year. The report prepared by the Vigilance sleuths had revealed that the question paper was sold to candidates for Rs 7 lakh each, a few days prior to the written test conducted for hiring 1,150 JBT and TGT teachers in Chandigarh in January and February 2015.
Total 13 persons, including five beneficiaries, who were working as teachers in the government schools have been arrested so far in the recruitment scam.
DSP Krishan Kumar said, “Soon after the accused is sent to judicial custody, we will get the accused on production warrant. His interrogation will lead to many new revelations.”
Sanjay, the mastermind of the scam, had provided the leaked question papers of various examinations to many candidates in Lucknow. He was arrested from Lucknow. His interrogation would lead to more beneficiaries who had purchased the question papers.
