Vaibhav powers DAV boys to title

Chandigarh, August 12 

Vaibhav Tyagi scored 11 goals as DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, defeated AKSIPS School, Sector 41, 21-15 to win the boys’ U-17 inter-school handball championship title here today. 

Reshav Rawat contributed five goals to the winning tally, while Aditya Bhatt struck four times for DAV. 

For AKSIPS, Abhiyant was the top scorer with six goals, followed by Manik, three goals. Raghav and Aditya scored two goals each.

In the girls’ U-14 category, Government Model High School, Sector 41, registered a 7-3 victory over Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, on Friday. 

Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, 9-4, while Shivalik Public School, Sector 41, humbled Sacred Heart School 8-3. 

Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, beat KB DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 7, 5-1. 

In another match, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Maloya, defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, 3-1.
