Mohali, February 14
In the Aikom murder case, examination-in-chief of Jaspal Singh, father of Aikom Singh Dhillon, was conducted. The cross-examination of Jaspal Singh would commence on the next date of hearing scheduled for February 21.
According to sources, during the examination-in-chief, Jaspal Singh named Nimratdeep Singh, who allegedly committed the crime in connivance with Seerat Kaur Dhillon, Aikom’s wife and prime accused. Sources said Jaspal Singh alleged that Nimratdeep was an acquaintance of Seerat and both had conspired to murder Aikom to acquire property under his name. Darshan Singh’s counsel Terminder Singh said: “Darshan’s examination-in-chief was completed today and cross-examination will start on the next date of hearing.” In the proceedings, call records of 13 mobile numbers were produced by nodal officers. In the last hearing, the nodal officer of Reliance had told that the call records were not available with the company since the number had been ported out to BSNL. —TNS
