Youth found hanging from tree; kin cry foul

CHANDIGARH: A daily wage earner was found hanging from a tree in the Sector 38 forest area on Friday.

Chandigarh, April 20

A daily wage earner was found hanging from a tree in the Sector 38 forest area on Friday. Lucky had left home in Sector 25 around 9.30 pm on Thursday night, his family said.

The youth’s body was found hanging from a mango tree in the forest area in the morning. The family has alleged foul play and held a protest at Sector 25. They alleged that he was killed and then hung from the tree.

The police, however, have ruled out any foul play as of now and are terming it a suicide case. However, they assured the family that a thorough and unbiased investgation would be conducted into the incident. Lucky is the third among five siblings.

The police are investigating the matter and looking at available CCTV footage from the area.
