Chandigarh, February 15

A local court today sentenced a 23-year-old youth to two years in imprisonment in a drug case.

A fine of Rs 10,000 has also been imposed on the convict. The incident dates back to November 4, 2016, when Balkar Singh, a resident of Jhajjar, Haryana, was caught near a government senior secondary school in Maloya. He had changed his direction on seeing cops patrolling the area, making them suspicious.

The cops nabbed him after a chase and recovered 148 gm of charas from him. He could not produce a valid licence or permit for keeping the drug and was arrested on the spot.  A case was registered against him.
