Patiala: Yadavindra Public School (YPS), Patiala, has been rated among the “Future 50 Schools Shaping Success” by “Fortune India”, a leading human resource journal of the country.



Patiala: Yadavindra Public School (YPS), Patiala, has been rated among the “Future 50 Schools Shaping Success” by “Fortune India”, a leading human resource journal of the country. The participating schools were divided into two categories of national and international curriculum. The 50 top schools were shortlisted from a total of 256 schools originally selected from across India. The parameters considered were overall performance of the institutions during 2016, credibility, repute and their ability to impact the results for the future of their students. It is for the first time that this exhaustive survey was conducted by “Fortune India” in collaboration with “Univariety”. The certificate of recognition was received by the school director, Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma (retd) at a special ceremony held in New Delhi. The achievements of the recognised schools will feature in the November “Special Exchange Edition” of the magazine.

Workshop for teachers

The Career Academy, Patiala, organised a workshop for the teaching staff on communication skills, personality development and effective teaching methodologies. Renowned speaker Ameet Chauhan engaged the participants in wonderfully designed vocabulary, sentence formation and grammar-enhancement activities. He stressed the importance of communication skills in a teacher, “whom students follow and become good orators”. Through his interactive session, he highlighted the traits that make a wholesome personality. He touched contemporary topics of constructive punishment and courtesy between the principal, teachers and students. Principal Punam Dhiman said, “Good communication skills lead to high spirits and the person with such qualities can easily shine in a crowd and climb the ladder of success.”

Special assembly

A special assembly was organised at Police DAV Public School, Patiala, by the Einstein Club. Under the guidance of their teachers, Neelam Jolly and Mamta Gupta, students Tanu, Amrin, Harleen, Ramanjot, Jasmilan and Kamaljeet Kaur briefed other students on the importance of science in the daily life. They were also told about the benefits of science in maintaining peace among nations. The harmful effects of excessive use of gadgets were also highlighted. Principal Meena Thapar applauded the efforts of the students and those in-charge of the club for their commendable presentation. She insisted the students to celebrate a green Diwali. OC
