NEW DELHI:The police have arrested two men in connection with the alleged gangrape of a 28-year-old woman in Mangolpuri on Tuesday, said a police official here today.

The police have arrested two men in connection with the alleged gangrape of a 28-year-old woman in Mangolpuri on Tuesday, said a police official here today.

The woman was searching for a house on rent during which she came across two men, Rajesh Khurana and Nandan Shukla, both are residents of the area.

The accused took the woman on the pretext of showing her some properties and took her inside a house and raped her. They fled the place after the incident.

The medical examination of the woman has confirmed the rape.

The woman lives in Mangolpuri with her husband, who is a labourer, and was looking for a house on rent.

A case under Section 375 of the IPC has been registered.

4 held for robbing cabbies

Global Positioning System (GPS) helps police in busting an OLA cab gang, who used to sell stolen mobiles in Mewat.

On February 12, information was received regarding a car robbery near a DDA park in Shastri Park. Subsequently, an FIR was registered.

During the analysis of the car’s GPS location, it was revealed that the car robbers were roaming in the area of Meerut, Dasna, Ghaziabad, Seemapuri and New Delhi.

Accordingly, yesterday, police searched their present location and trapped them near Yamuna Khadar in New Usmanpur, when the thieves had called the buyer of the robbed mobiles, Nizam, at the said place.

From the spot, the car robbers: Zishan Qureshi, Naushad and Mohsin and Nizam, were arrested.

After sustained interrogation, Nizam confessed of receiving stolen mobiles from the accused and selling the mobiles in Mewat. DCP Dr Ajit Kumar Singla (Northeast) said 21 mobiles were recovered from Nizam’s house.

After sustained interrogation, Qureshi, Mohsin and Nushad, along with Shadab, revealed that they are drug addicts and after taking drugs they used to target Ola cabs and private vehicles.

They used to book Ola cabs by the snatched phones and after robbing vehicles, they used to snatch mobile and money from all over the city. 

Thereafter, they used to dump the robbed vehicles in any abandoned place and sell the mobiles to Nizam. They have confessed more than 100 robberies and mobile-snatching.
