In its tussle with the Centre over the babus’ strike, the Kejriwal government has received support from several unions, including the DTC Contractual Employees Union, the MCD Swachchhata Karamchari Union and the Delhi Dhobi Sabha, Health Department workers, among others.

Further, the presence of ambulances and a big team of doctors at LG Anil Baijal’s office, where Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his party leaders are on a sit-in for five days now to press for their demands, prompted a panic-stricken AAP government to claim that the two fasting ministers, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, may be forced out of there.

Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, who have been on hunger protest since Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, do not require hospitalisation as of date, said authorities from the Raj Niwas.

“Several workers unions have sent letter in support of the CM.... More employee unions are coming forward to extend support to Kejriwal in his fight,” said party leaders.

However, during the day Kejriwal had tweeted, “Why r they planning to take them forcefully? It is just 4 days. Both of them r fit. They r fighting for the people of Delhi (sic).”

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia released a video warning that if they are forcibly removed from the LG office they will give up water.

Sources from Baijal’s office said seeing a team of specialists led by the medical head of LNJP Hospital, which came to check the health of ministers today the party had raised such apprehensions while adding that a regular team, comprising doctor, a nurse and a helper, anyhow has been visiting the ministers.

Going by doctors, the condition of both the ministers who have started showing ketone level in urine is being managed and they have been advised to take, at least, five liters of water to avoid dehydration. The sugar levels have dropped in both.
