Fake degree racket busted, 3 arrested

NEW DELHI:The Outer District police was alerted to check upon the menace of fake mark sheet suppliers in the city.

The Outer District police was alerted to check upon the menace of fake mark sheet suppliers in the city.

An information was received to the special staff that one person is running the group of supplying mark sheets in the area of Mianwali Nagar, said police.

In the meanwhile, one complaint was also received in the office of the special staff that Shiv Shankar is running the said racket of providing fake mark sheets and he cheated the complainant amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh and further demanded Rs 50,000 for final degree in this regard.

An FIR was registered in this regard.

A trap was laid at the office of the alleged accused at the 1st floor of National Market, Chaudhary Prem Sukh Marg and Shankar was apprehended from his office. Fake mark sheets, migration certificates, provisional certificates, pen drives and hardware equipments were recovered from his office, said additional DCP Rajendera Singh Sagar (Outer District).

When the accused was interrogated, he disclosed that he was running this gang in connivance with two other accused — Manish Bansal and Gautam Gupta.

Accordingly, both the accused persons were also arrested and multiple mark sheets and hardware equipments were also recovered from their office. All the recoveries were seized as per seizure memo, DCP said.

During interrogation, accused persons disclosed that they used to obtain the database of mobile numbers from Justdial and also used to promote their racket by distributing pamphlets door to door.

In order to convince their clients, they used to present full description about all the universities (whose details are downloaded by them from internet) in such a manner that they managed to lure few clients. After convincing their clients, they supply the mark documents to their clients based on their demands for B. Tech or MBA certificates.
