Govt approves scheme for road accident victims

NEW DELHI:The government will bear the expenses of treatment of road accidents and acid attack victims at hospitals under a new scheme approved by the Cabinet today.

The government will bear the expenses of treatment of road accidents and acid attack victims at hospitals under a new scheme approved by the Cabinet today.

The proposed scheme will also cover the victims of fire-related incidents on streets, said Health Minister Satyendar Jain briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting.

“The Cabinet has approved the scheme for road accident victims. The Delhi Government will bear the treatment cost of such people both in its own and private hospitals,” Jain said.

The move will go a long way in saving lives during the golden hour after an accident. Quick response during the first 60 minutes is crucial for managing the trauma.
