MBBS dropout held in motorcycle theft case

NEW DELHI:Sarfraz Ahmed, an MBBS drop-out and son of a government employee, has been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police in a motorcycle theft case.

Sarfraz Ahmed, an MBBS drop-out and son of a government employee, has been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police in a motorcycle theft case. 

Sarfraz, who speaks English fluently and is also known as doctor, was arrested today from Matiala where he went to meet one of his accomplices.

During his search, two fake driving licences (with his photos but different names) and two fake RCs were seized from his possession. 

On verification, his motorcycle was also found to have been stolen from Prasad Nagar area.

Several fake number plates, SIM cards, fake IDs, fake RCs, laptop and printer have been seized from him, the police said.

As many as 18 high-end motorcycles and Scootys have been recovered on the basis of his revelations. He has sold more than 50 stolen motorcycles through websites in the past two years. 

The role of his wife, who is a doctor, is under the scanner. A total of 25 cases have been solved with his arrest, the police said.

During the interrogation, he said that he hails from Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and his father is an accountant with the state government. After completing his schooling, he went to Warsaw, Poland, for an MBBS course but could not complete it.

According to the police, the accused lived at Kiran Garden in Uttam Nagar but did not have any permanent job or fixed income. Due to financial crunch, he began stealing high-end motorcycles for easy money.
