A mentally disturbed woman, Sarika, allegedly killed her eight-month-old son Chirag in Aman Vihar, outer Delhi. The incident happened late last night when the baby was with his mother, a police official said.

Two other daughters of the woman, aged seven and two, were at their grandfather’s residence, the official said.

According to reports, when her husband returned home around 1 am, he was shocked to see his wife sitting with the mutilated body of their eight-month-old son in her lap. Head of the baby was lying on the ground covered in blood.

In the statement given to the police, the man said this was not the first time. Four years ago also his wife had killed their two-month old son, but the family had covered up the whole incident thinking that the woman was mentally ill and needed medication. The woman had been undergoing treatment at Lady Harding for mental health issues.

The police are suspecting the angle of black magic into the murder. The woman has been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital and started investigating the matter after filing a case.
