The Delhi police yesterday arrested a wanted criminal, Asif (39) of Nand Nagri, Delhi, said a police official today.
The police have announced Rs 50,000 reward on him.
Working on a tip-off, at midnight police picket was deployed at Tikona Park, Okhala Head road and Batla House towards Escort Hospital.
At 1 am, a white Swift car was observed coming towards Escort Hospital. On seeing the police the driver tturned the car towards Okhla head.
The police blocked road. The driver brandished his pistol and tried to run away.
But sub inspector Yogesh snatched the pistol and overpowered him with the help of assistant sub inspector. A pistol with four live cartridges recovered from him.
