Oppn reacts to capital’s impasse

NEW DELHI:Rising above political differences, Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav today observed that former party colleague, Kejriwal's yesterday's appeal to the IAS officers should be read as an "implicit apology" (for the alleged assault on Delhi CS Anshu Prakash) -- something he said "though not forthright, as was due, and as given in other cases) and as withdrwal of his demand for punishment to officers.

New Delhi, June 18

Rising above political differences, Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav today observed that former party colleague, Kejriwal's yesterday's appeal to the IAS officers should be read as an "implicit apology" (for the alleged assault on Delhi CS Anshu Prakash) -- something he said "though not forthright, as was due, and as given in other cases) and as withdrwal of his demand for punishment to officers.

adav also urged IAS officers of Delhi to resume meetings and communications with ministers in public interest.

On the other hand, DPCC president Ajay Maken said that Kejriwal is trying to find an escape route from his non-performance in the last three and half years.

Maken met senior party leaders and passed a resolution condemning the “air-conditioned” dharna politics of Kejriwal and the BJP leaders at a time when the capital is facing acute water and power shortage, severe air pollution and sanitation crises amongst other crumbling problems of civic amenities.

Maken said the resolution also sought the attention of the four CMs who extended their support to the Delhi CM as "Kejriwal is an opportunist, not secular and he cannot be trusted”.

Appealing to both the ruling parties at the Centre and Delhi to resolve the impasse at the earliest as Delhi has already suffered enough in the last four years, Maken reminded Kejriwal that the 15 years of Congress government provided exemplary governance in Delhi and delivered on its promises under the present constitutional setup.
