In a bid to save paper and encourage use of technology, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has decided to offer incentives to water and electricity consumers who opt for e-bills. Registration has to be done separately for both the water and power bills, said a senior NDMC official.
"Consumers for both electricity and water in NDMC areas will have an option to pay the bills. The NDMC has decided that consumers who opt for receiving their bills through email only in lieu of physical bill will get a rebate of Rs 20 in their monthly bill," said the official.
In addition, the civic body has also decided to provide a rebate of 0.2 per cent to those making the payment through electronic mode within seven days of dispatch of the bill, said the official while noting that this will be given irrespective of the mode of receipt of bill-e bill or physical bill.
One can register for this service from a link at home page of NDMC website -- quick pay electricity/water bill.
