Robbers bite cop’s thumb during arrest, one held

NEW DELHI:The Delhi Police arrested a robber, Sonu, yesterday from Karawal Nagar and seized a motorcycle and house-breaking articles from him, said a police official.

The Delhi Police arrested a robber, Sonu, yesterday from Karawal Nagar and seized a motorcycle and house-breaking articles from him, said a police official.

There were 25 cases registered on him, said the official.

Yesterday, a PCR call regarding quarrel was received at the Karawal Nagar Police Station. When police reached at Yadav Gali, they spotted two persons on a TVS Appache motorcycle.

On suspicion, the police signaled them to stop, but they fled away. On this, an official tried to stop the motorcycle. Due to sudden break, their motorcycle skidded off the road. The official caught one person who bit his right thumb and ran away. Another official caught a person who attacked him with iron rod, which he was carrying to break the house locks, and bit his left arm for 10 minutes but constable Vinay over powered him. A case has been registered in this regard, said DCP Dr Ajit Kumar Singla.

During interrogation initially, the accused revealed his name as Ashok. Later on he has been identified as Sonu, who is a bad character of the Karawal Nagar Police Station, added the DCP.
