The objective of the meeting was to share terror-related intelligence and inputs about various extremist outfits and their designs in view of the Republic Day celebrations. Senior officers of Delhi Police and their counterparts from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh attended the meeting.

Verma stressed increasing police presence, intensive and co-ordinated checking at vulnerable points, tenant verification, guest house checking, paying guest accommodation and sensitisation of cyber café owners, second-hand car dealers, STD, ISD, PCO booth owners, etc.

The officers shared intelligence to check crimes committed by interstate criminals and organised gangs of autolifters operating in their areas.
