Tourism fest to promote environment protection

NEW DELHI:In a bid to sensitise city residents, the 29th Garden Tourism Festival scheduled to be held at The Garden of Five Senses here from February 19 to 21 will promote gardening as a tool for environment protection.

In a bid to sensitise city residents, the 29th Garden Tourism Festival scheduled to be held at The Garden of Five Senses here from February 19 to 21 will promote gardening as a tool for environment protection. 

This edition's theme is "Garden for Environment & Health" that encourages visitors to contribute to the cause for protection of environment as it is directly related to their own health.

This three-day extravaganza will showcase a variety of flowers, potted plants, bonsai, etc with highlights being plants and herbs with medicinal properties. It would be marked by floral displays, themed gardens, horticultural demonstrations and other activities.

Delhi Tourism has been organising the festival for more than two decades now. 

All the exhibits during festival are evaluated by the judges from the horticultural department. 

With separate sections to selling plants, horticulture equipment, pesticides, fertilizers and other general items etc, those interested may also buy gardening equipment and saplings. 

Besides, there would be workshops/lectures/nataks on environment and horticulture, food festival magic show, adventure activities and various activities and competition for people from different age groups to make event a one-stop destination for Delhiites.
