While as many as 62 students from Class XII have made it to the list, from Class X, 39 students have been shortlisted.

While during results, an alternate list of sports quota students is also released alongside the general results, many sports students remain among the state’s high scorers due to the 15 to 25 marks, which they get by virtue of their sporting achievements.

While from Class XII, 44 students bagged positions in the state-level games and 18 in the national games; from Class X, as many as 34 bagged positions in the state-level games and five made it to the national games.

Across categories, merely 16 of the 101 students are from Government Senior Secondary State School of Sports.

In keeping with the tradition to award grace marks to students across government schools excelling in sports in the state, the Education Department had sought a list of students getting the first three positions in the state and national school games.

While 25 grace marks shall be given to students who have excelled in national or international meets, those bagging positions at the state-level shall be awarded 15 marks in the Class X and XII examinations.

DEO Harinder Pal said, “A list of government school students from the district who have bagged positions has been sent to the government. There are sports achievers from 32 games in the district.”

While it was the last day of the Class X exams today, the results for Class X and XII PSEB boards exams are expected to be announced by May end.
