13 students among 37 hurt in road mishap

JALANDHAR:Forty persons, including 13 schoolchildren, sustained injuries after a school bus of State Public school, Nakodar, collided with a Tempo on the Malsian-Shahkot road today.

Forty persons, including 13 schoolchildren, sustained injuries after a school bus of State Public school, Nakodar, collided with a Tempo on the Malsian-Shahkot road today. 

Malsian SHO Bharat Masiah said the school bus carrying 13 children was coming from Nakodar to Shahkot when its driver Buta Singh while overtaking the bus rammed it into a Tempo near Malsian. 

The Tempo was carrying 25 waiters and was going to the Jalandhar cantonment area. 

While Ranjit Singh, Tempo driver, sustained critical injuries, Buta Singh too sustained injuries and is admitted to a hospital. 

The condition of six children is stated to be critical while the condition of 20 waiters is also reported to be critical. Two children were discharged from the hospital after giving first aid. The police have registered a case under Section 279, 337, 338 and 427 of the IPC against Buta Singh.
