20 fire-cracker licences issued

JALANDHAR: The district administration today issued 20 temporary licences for the sale of firecrackers in the areas under the jurisdiction of the Police Commissionerate.

Jalandhar, October 16

The district administration today issued 20 temporary licences for the sale of firecrackers in the areas under the jurisdiction of the Police Commissionerate.

The licences were issued through a draw which was held at Red Cross Bhawan in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, Police Commissioner Praveen Kumar Sinha, DCP Rajinder Singh and ADC Jasbir Singh.

Meanwhile, no licence was issued for selling crackers in the rural areas outside the jurisdiction of the Police Commissionerate. As per the High Court, temporary licences were to be restricted to 20 per cent of the licences issued in 2016. tns
