Phagwara: The Sadar police have booked a man along with his two sons for allegedly cheating his NRI brother.



Phagwara: The Sadar police have booked a man along with his two sons for allegedly cheating his NRI brother. According to information, Jeet Singh, a resident of Chiherru village, along with his two sons Gurcharan Singh and Harcharan Singh got registered 3 kanals and 2 marlas of land on the name of Gurcharan and Harcharan. According to the FIR, the land belonged to Jeet and his Australia-based brother Kuldip Singh. A case under Sections 420 and 120B of the IPC has been registered.

Proclaimed offender arrested

Phagwara: The police have arrested a proclaimed offender, identified as Kuldip Kumar of Rampur Khalian village. A dagger was seized from him. The accused was lodged in the jail last year and he was released on parole for 44 days on July 27, 2016. He had to return to the jail on September 8 last year, but he didn't. A case has been registered against him.

Liquor seized, man held

Phagwara: The police have arrested a person for allegedly smuggling liquor. Identified as Makhan Singh, a resident of Onkar Nagar, four boxes of illicit liquor were seized from his possession. The police have registered a case against him and further investigation into the case is on.

Minor abducted

Phagwara: A resident of Rampur Khalian has been accused of abducting a minor girl on the pretext of marraige. The accused has been identified as Parveen Hans. Gurmit Singh, a resident of Jagpalpur village, said his minor daughter left for her school on December 5, but didn't return. Hans lured her away on the pretext of marriage, he alleged. The Rawalpind police have registered a case under Sections 363 and 366-A of the IPC.
