After seventh round, results in boys category are as follows: Kushagra Mohan (Telangana ) 6,5, Mehta Naitik (Gujarat) 6,0, Arnav Tiwari (Delhi) 5,5, AGM Srihari (Tamil Naidu) 5,5, Pranesh (Tamil Naidu) 5,5. Results in girls category are: Divya Deshmukh (Maharashtra) 6.5 point, Jyothsna (Tamil) 6 point, Savita Shri (Tamil) 6 point, Mrudul Dehankar (Maharashtra) 5.5 point, Brishty Mukherjee (West Bengal) 5.5 point.tns

Jalandhar: To commemorate the 42 years of declaration of Emergency in the country, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Naujwan Sabha on Sunday held a discussion on emergency-like situation in the country in the present regime.The Sabha also established a study circle at the P Sundeya Marxist Study Centre, where youths from across the state participated to hold a discussion on the same topic. Speaking on the occasion, members of the Sabha said the present situation in India was becoming more dictatorial, though the emergency had not been declared so far. At that time in 1975, the police and other Central Armed forces used to execute the government’s might, however, this task is being fulfilled by the lynch mob and other communal forces, they said.tns

Youth awareness camp held

Jalandhar: A unique kind of summer camp was organised at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall to mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution. As many as 250 students from the state had participated in the two-day ‘Sikhiarthi Chetna Camp’ which started on June 23. Students and youngsters here were not taught dance, music or cooking but were shown art films like ‘Two- A film fable’ by Satyajit Ray and ‘Jinna ne duniya badal ditti’. The films were shown by a film society, People’s voice. People’s Voice convener Kulwinder said, “The students who participated in the camp are very intellectual and since it’s a unique kind of camp, we make them see art films and the films which make people think.” The organisation has been working since years promoting art cinema and showing deep, intellectual movies to people free of cost. It was formed 16 years ago in 2001. Many resource persons gave lectures to students on the Russian Revolution and other related topics. tns
