Jalandhar, February 15

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhupinder Pal Singh today asked officials to effectively implement the centrally sponsored schemes so that people could get the benefits of these schemes.

Presiding over a review meeting to implement these schemes efficiently, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said schemes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) could act as a game changer for transforming the destiny of people.

He said the scheme was all the more important as it provided 100-days’ job to people on one hand and propelled the pace of

comprehensive development of the villages on the other. He also told Block Development and Panchayat Officer to start maximum work in rural areas under the scheme.

Bhupinder Pal Singh said this scheme could give permanent assets to villages and at the same time provide daily wages to the needy, ready to do physical labour under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner further said other centrally-sponsored schemes also aim at inclusive development and ensuring equitable access to benefits of all socio-economic development schemes to the most deserving.

Bhupinder Pal Singh said these schemes also aim to achieve the objectives of holistic development of all the sections of the society, besides ensuring social justice and equality, by improving the standard of living and quality of life in the rural areas.

He asked officials to dedicatedly work for the implementation of these schemes, so that the

eligible beneficiaries could be benefitted from it. Bhupinder Pal Singh also said any sort of

callousness in the task was unwarranted and undesirable.
